The City of Calamba, or Lungsod ng Calamba, is a first-class city found in the province of Laguna in the south Luzon region of the Philippines. The city is located 54 kilometers south of manila, sprawled on the northern slopes of a dormant volcano called Mt. Makiling. Bordering the city to the north is the municipality of Cabuyao, the municipality of Los Baños to the east, the municipalities of Santo Tomas and Talisay in the province of Batangas to the south, Tagaytay city and the municipality of silang in Cavite province to the west, and Laguna de Bay to the northwest. The city covers a total land area of 144.80 km², characterized by rugged level to hilly and mountainous terrain. It is accessed from Metro Manila via the South Luzon Expressway, where the southern end of this national highway is found. This makes Calamba the gateway to the southern Luzon provinces.
