Default Royal Wedding

unless you have been on Mars or had your head firmly stuffed under your pillow for the last few months, you will have noticed the much publicised Royal wedding is happening this week.

What is your views on the Royal wedding?

Are you arranging a local event to celebrate?

or will it just pass as another normal day?

(please keep all comments respectful and within forum rules)

I was invited but then realised I would be sitting next to Camila and as I cannot stand the smell of mothballs, I declined the invitation

I decided to accept the invitation, anything for a free dinner and a glass of that fizzy stuff, it will be quite a change from cabbage , potatoes and sherbert

I am afraid you are a bit wide of the mark.............it is reportedly £20 million capital expenditure plus extras.........for example, 12,000 military staff, 5,000 Police, Business closures both in and out of London. The figure bandied about as a total cost was £100 million.

If correct...............this is lunacy on a grand scale.

OK it costs 100 million, what about all the publicity the UK has gained from this event, pre event, 2 billion people watching it on the day and the post event publicity plus one extra days holiday and finally the feel good factor. Al least the 100 million is spent in the UK and not being spent on futile military expenditure in remote parts of the world.
