Hello Everyone! thanks for this wonderful Forum.
My husband and I relocated to Portugal 2 and 1/2 years ago from USA (he is American, I am German) as early retirees and have opened a small "green" country guesthouse in the beautiful hills of the Sintra Natural Park. We love Portugal and its friendly people. We are very involved in the Slow Food movemnet, organic farming and environmental endeavors.

Post moving

Hello all.
My name is Ron Curly and I will be moving to a little house just outside Pedrogao Grande on the 23rd of August, well that is in preparation for completion on the 30th, if all goes well. I have been looking through the treads on the site and most questions are covered some many times. But it might be nice to meet up with any xpats in the area. I will post agian when I get my PT internet sorted.

Hello, I am also an American living in Lisbon (4.5 years) together with my Portuguese girlfriend. The SlowFood movement / organic farming is becoming very popular in the Bay Area (San Francisco). Sintra is a very beautiful place, congratulations to you both on the guesthouse, any additional information about it?

Hi My name is Sharon we are retiring to a small village between Nellas and Viseu. My husband is Portuguese and I am Australian. I love the lifestyle in the village and am looking forward to our time there. Nice to make contact through this forum. Very interested in hearing from people who have set up small businesses.

Default Hi there everyone

Hi to all.

My wife and I are looking at relocating to (central) Portugal in the very near future from South Africa, so just like to say hi to all and look forward to possibly getting together in the new year. Any motorbikers out there? we ride a Honda GoldWing and are really looking forward to doing some serious touring of the country

Hi Redwolf

I'm actually a Rooinek but we lived in RSA for about 11 years & came from there to central Portugal (Figueiro Dos Vinhos) about a year ago.

I'm not a biker nowadays but was one for something like 40 odd years. I now restrict myself to four wheels but FWIW, I bought my classic Jeep from RSA over here when I came so might be able to point you in the right directions if you're bringing your Goldwing with you. (BTW, it's a bikers paradise here)

We were in the Lowveld near Nelspruit (actually White River) where are you?

Also, FWIW, it took us a while to settle & we missed Africa but now we've been here a year, we wouldn't go back.

Let me know if there's anything I can do to be of help to you.
