Mick - I wish you every success.

But, bear in mind that you're up against the Chinese. I don't know what Seville is like but here it's a GENUINE monopoly - there is an industrial estate just south of the capital - You could believe you were in the back streets in Taiwan or HongKong.

I'm TOLD by my wifes cousin (a copper) it may not be JUST down to price etc - Some DO resort to particular UNFAIR business practices. BIG knives. They apply it especially to their competition. Be aware.

Also be aware that much business in Seville is in the hands of Gitanos. A very closed society ime.

I'm not into the business world as you may have guessed lol, but I've heard (from my estate agent friend) that there are a lot shops being bought up around our area by a chinese company (the name escapes me), but they only sell their own products and their souvenir merchandise is gonna be very competitive???

Jojo,
is this sevilla you're talking about? well that's a little scary.
But I'm not afraid of the Chinese, as our products are not something they can compete with easily. Chinese are great at copying, but all of our products are Copy Righted.

No Mick, I'm not talking about Sevilla, so you may be ok. I'm further down, near Malaga. So you may be alright, I just know that my friend was telling me that this chinese organisation is planning shops across the costa del sol

Mick - YOU DO KNOW that Spain is probably where most pirating is done in Europe don't you!. It's also more or less acceptable and lot of folk here WILL buy cheap copies. The streets are full of pirated CDS/DVS etc. Copyright does NOT worry the Chinese one little bit.

But from what I see here - the Chinese "Todo a 100" (sort of a general everything cheap) shops buy exclusively off Chinese distributors. I don't know whether it's loyalty to their own or whether there is something more sinister (indebtedness) behind it.

At least the Chinese are taking over most of the empty shop premises, so there´s a good side (to most things). Rob
