lawstuff,

I hope you can read, write and speak Thai! Perhaps it's not necessary but I think that the competition is pretty fierce from native speaking Thais - most of which, by the time they get their law degree, are going to be very proficient in English as well. That said, I could be wrong.

Very little chance right now, everybody is trying to get rid of expats except the top companies like Baker & McKenzie. Alll courtcases in Thailand are normally conducted in Thai. I know a few expat lawyers but they are mainly in the M&A business. One of my best firends is a Thai lawyer and he reckons the business sucks att he moment.

King Silk,

Perhaps business would be better if the 'goods' were fresher and more attractive?
Or a 2 for 1 sale? In these troubled economic times, innovation is the mother's milk of commerce.

I thought law was on the protected list (Thai people only) - having said that I do know there are some farang lawyers here, though I think they must be co-counciled by a Thai lawyer in court - this is just what I have been told, so may well be complete crap.

I would guess corporate law would be best chance - especially if you can get hired from home country and relocated over.
