Those fat old Germans in Pataya are actualy helping to support those ladies and thier families , please do not knock it , without them a lot of people would be on starvation diets , allow them to enjoy thier later years whatever way they can , sex is good for the heart , so maybe they can get a few extra years of livable life .
Your frugal life of simple needs could be your downfall (and heart-ache), no money no honey is the general rule ,
ooops, does your defence of prozzies and slagdogs mean you have one then?

and didnt mean to upset u about fat germans, but if they (and or you) feel happy to send all your money to them families cos you have to pay to get sex so be it. all those girls have thai boyfriends anyway, the forgeiner is kidding himslef if he thinks she is true to him.

extra few years of life? how many of those fat and slagdogs die by jumping off buildings?

no money no hunny, yeah i've read that book, not all thailand is like that!

Should you have an interest in teaching English to any-one , i would respectfully suggest you do some swatting up on the subject , such as : starting a sentence with and ?

Hi Colin

Thanks mate, my English is crap sometimes, but do try to write with clarity. Are you residing in Cambodia now, or just checking the country out? I was in Poi Pet a few years back on the proverbial border run, when not wise to visa requirements. The scars of war very apparent. Saying that, the Cambodian people I did interact with were exceptional considering their circumstances. Still the eyes spoke of emmence sufferring and pain. Of cause thats my perception and I tend to notice the latter wherever I go. Okay I will be here in Bangkok until the 17th for communicating.

Martin,

Hardly anybody wants to teach kids. That's where the jobs are, though. I think the only way is to just show up. It helps to have a tefl certificate, and to be legal (although legal jobs are hard to find), you need a university degree.

Unlike other countries, Thai schools don't post much on bulletin boards or advertise on Dave's ESL Cafe. They find their teachers among those who want to live there and are right in front of them. Chiang Mai is supposed to be one of the hardest places to find work, and supposedly has the lowest pay, too.

Amazingly, if you have a degree and a TEFL certificate, the public schools pay fairly well.

You have to be prepared for large classes, and even in the private language schools, no airconditioning, at least in Chiang Mai. That may not seem like an issue if you've mainly been there in the winter tourist season, but when it is well over 40C, you might care more.

No air=con in private schools in Thailand , my god , no wonder some expats suggest they have slipped below 3rd world status , they have air-con in private schools here in ultra poor Cambodia and they pay a livable stipend .

Some of the private schools have air-con, but many do not. The Thai's don't mind. It may be different in Bangkok, but it certainly was true in Chiang Mai. Then the students complain because the foreign teachers sweat.
