Default Safe sex in Thailand

A big consideration for many who visit Thailand, of course. There have been major improvements in awareness amongst those working in the sex industry, and official figures have shown a dramatic drop in those contracting HIV. But the problem isn't about to go away, and there have been worrying signs of infection rates creeping up again, according to one government source.

Either way, it's something everyone should remain very aware of. Quality of condoms is one factor... so would you trust the following?!

Yes noticed that, looks like the Scandinavians represent more than a third of the farang population! Is it a similar situation in Krabi then?

Don't think I've met any Swedes in Chiang Mai amongst the expats.

In Krabi you can get around the tourist areas with swedish alone.. no need to speak english or any other language.. sickens me, for some reason. Considering we are a country of less than 10 million people, it seems like almost half the population would be in the south of Thailand each year..

I'm planning to escape to Chiang Mai for a couple of days with the wifey, over Valentines day. We've never been there before though, and got no friends/family living there. So dunno how it will be. But no swedes is always a good sign!

There's no such thing as safe sex in Thailand! You might like it to much and end up supporting an entire Village!

Acid Crow,

I'm assuming you were not implying having sex with the entire village - just helping support them. Hey, Happy Wife - Happy Life. What is money for if not to give you pleasure and one of the best ways is to make others you care about happy. After all, we arrived into this world with nothing and when we depart we will have nothing. What we have in between should go to making your life fuller and richer and giving happiness to those you care about. Just meter it out so that there's enough for you from here to hereafter!
