Default Forestry Investments?

I've been told that investing in forestry is the way to go in light of the GFC. I've looked around and Forestech and Asia Plantation are offering the best "deals"-But I'm not sure if it's not all one big con trick....if it's too good to be true etc. etc.

Anyone ever had dealings with any of the above?

Investing in Forestry is a great idea, its a safe haven and can produce great returns, but some of the companies you mention claim various things but are unable to deliver, due to the lack of a production factory, which you need to extract the oil from the Agarwood trees.
As far as I am aware the only company in Thailand with a factory is Asia Forestry Management. You can as an investor visit the Nurserys, factory and plantation in Trat province and they are happy to show you around.

If you require more info please just PM me here and I will be happy to help

Thanks

Darling, stay away from the likes of Forestech and Asia Plantation. These scams have been running in South America for years and with the recent wine investment swindle in the UK shows us that "alternative investments" are still not to be trusted.

To be more specific, if you look at the Forestech website you will see that they have only paid their investors once, that is how much of a baby they are so who can say if Forestech will pay out again. Get rich quick schemes the lot of them...but it's not you who will be getting rich.

Reject Forestech and Reject Asia Plantation (who have so little information on their website, it's kinda scary). Put your money in property or just in the bank.

Hope this helps huns.

Update on Touchwood Forestry here

INVESTORS WHO PUT MONEY IN INCENSE - SEE IT GO UP IN SMOKE

AGARWOOD INVESTORS SMELL SOMETHING BAD.

Well they say money does not grow on trees. But of course it does, and people are investing in forests all over the place. Buy a tree and your money should grow as the tree grows. Voilą!

Touchwood PlC are listed on the Colombo ( Sri Lanka) Stock exchange. They used to have offices in Bangkok, Hong Kong and Dubai. But abruptly those offices closed amid rumours of regulatory investigation in Hong Kong, and frustrated investors demanding payouts at their plush Bangkok offices.
and another one to be wary of:

Quote:
Take, for example, Sustainable Growth Group, a bio-fuel operation involving Jatropha tree plantations in south east Asia, now under investigation by the Serious Fraud Squad. Investors have lost £32 million and law firm Regulatory Legal, which has reviewed over 600 of its case files, found that every case was linked to the transfer of other pensions to Sipps.
