Cool Looking for long term rental in Spain

Hi all,
My husband and I and the kids have recently moved to South Africa - we would rather Spain so we are looking for anyone who knows of cheap property for long term rent in the Costa del Sol - if anyone knows any estate agents with websites we could visit etc - need as much info as possible on how to obtain local newspapers with ads in. My husband is also looking for a job - does anyone know any good sites to visit for english speaking jobs - only have basic spanish.
Thanks
Trish

Default rentals in costa del sol

Hello

Glad to hear your coming over here to spain. I know a lady who does long term rentals. You can rent for a maximum of 11 months in spain as once you hit the 12 month you can then claim rights against the landlord so all long lets are only for 11 months. you can renew at 11 months though. Do you know what budget you will have for your home here? do you know the area you want to be in? do you know the date you will be arriving? all these things count as to who to refer you to you see.

I live in Elviria and it is gorgeous. If you know costa del sol maybe you know this area.

as for work and adverts try sur in english.

they have classified ads.

thanks
lorayne

Hi Lorayne,
Thank you so much for replying - we are landing on 14th September at about 7.45pm - our budget is around 700euros pm and we dont mind 2 or 3 bed place, prefereably ground floor with kids. We were looking at somewhere by Benalmadena or between there and Marbella - but open to offers. If you know of any cheap cars for sale we would appreciate it too. Your info has been most helpful - keep in touch please Trish x

Hi, we have an apartment in Costa Azahar (Castellón area), in the resort Marina D´or. I know it´s not the area you are looking for but it´s cheaper than Costa del Sol. The apartment will be ready around end of this year. It has 2 bedrooms, 2nd line of beach, 2nd floor, very sunny, whirl tub, totally furnished, kitchen fully equiped with all appliances. Garage with direct access to the apartment, private storage room, communal swimming pool and gardens, very nice. The price per month for 1 year rental is 600 € (community cost included in the price). Water and electricity costs at your expense. You can contact me for further details: (34) 626 20 50 84. My name is Sandra.

Hi Trish

Im sure you will get plenty of info regarding all sorts of property on the Costa Del Sol, and theres bound to be one that suits you and your family at the right price.

However, if you do not get fixed up or want to try a little further inland, then I have an apartment for long term rent available now in the small rural town of Olvera in Cadiz province. Its about 1.5 hours from the coast; 45 minutes drive from Ronda heading north east.

It has two double bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin), lounge, kitchen/dining room, bathroom and small terrace. It takes up the first floor of my house and I live on the ground floor. The house has a front courtyard which guests also have access to and the apartment has it own separate entrance with only one flight of stairs to negotiate.

The town sits sprawled across a mountain range surrounded by breathtaking scenery with yet more mountains, acres of olive trees, and just waiting to be explored. You get all the hustle and bustle you would expect of a small town, people toing and froing to work, and then you get the evenings where you can sit and drink a cool drink watch the world go by and chat to the wonderfully friendly local people. Even with basic Spanish you will be surprised at just how friendly they can be and they love you to try and talk to them, and help you too. Its a different kind of world to that you will experience on the coast - its now only starting to get discovered by the tourists and has its own uniqueness of what spanish life is all about. Even if you settle on the coast, this is a place you should visit for a day or two. Pretty much eveything you would need is available in the town - theres a large Mercadona supermarket, plenty of small shops selling all kinds of things, and the town is ideally located to travel to Seville and Jerez both being within a 1:15 hrs drive; Malaga about 1.5 hrs drive; Granada about 1:75 drive
and there are more towns close by. The roads are pretty good too.
English SUR, The Olive Press, Euro weekly, Town Crier are just a few of the newspaper that are full of properties to rent and situations vacant. But do not fool youself that it will be easy - jobs are difficult to come by especially with basic spanish, but there are plenty of expats along the coast, so maybe there a job for you amongst them, or perhaps you should consider starting your own business.

If you want to know more about my apartment and the town of Olvera, just get in touch.

Otherwise, I wish you well and hope you find what you are looking for.
