The UK government is planning to make the loging of travel to locations outside it's borders a legal requirement. This will also require folk to log the date that they intend to return to the UK. Failure to comply with this planned legislation could incur up to a £5000 fine.

I expect that they will also want to know where we are staying when we have left UK shores. Anyone going camping or caravaning will probably be summarily shot on their return, as will back packers and anyone who has not made definate plans for their return. I'm waiting to see how much it will cost us to tell the government where we are going on our holidays and for how long, and quite possibly, why.

This is not 3rd page of the Sun journalism, it is derived from a Daily Telegraph article and was followed up by a report on BBC News on Radio 4. I have no objections to the UK authorities sharing information with other nations in respect of terrorist suspects, convicted sex attackers, paedophiles and dangerous criminals etc; but this is a bit rich, even for this shower.
