.....Generally speaking, what is considered the maximum time span for a 'holiday rental' and the minimum for a 'long term rental'? Are 'holiday rentals' priced just for the busy tourist/holiday season ? Do rentals normally come furnished?

.....and on a different note, are mosquitoes a problem ?

there are contracts for up to 11 months which are called 'temporada' & specifically state that they are not for use as primary residence, so essentially they are meant for holiday lets

yet when we first came we had a 3 month contract which stated that it was primary residence & renewable - we renewed it a couple of times until we decided to move

rentals come furnished, part furnished & unfurnished

mosquitoes are a problem in some areas more than others

Where my daughter used to live in El Faro on the coast, mosquitoes were a terrible problem. Where we live in Inland Andalucia we rarely ever see any.

As for rentals, the choice is yours whether to have furnished or not. Most short term winter lets will be furnished as they are used for holiday makers in the summer.
