I got the forms filled them in then found they were out of date so had to start again.

Will have to keep trying.
I dont know what its like in your area, but those sort of horror stories used to be the case in our area, so it was changed, appointments were given along with the paperwork to fill in at your leisure and now its easy. I'm sure that in your area it wont be like that anymore???

I'd download the forms from here, give the office a ring & find out for sure if that's what you have to do

I'd be surprised if the queues in Zaragoza were so long ........are there that many foreigners there??

in any case - they might well have changed the system since whoever told you that did it

until a year ago, we had to go to Denia for ours - the system there was mad - you did have to queue at sillyo'clock on a Friday to get an appointment for the following week

then a year or so back we heard that you could 'walk in' in the Benidorm office - so that's what people from here started to do

they have recently opened another office in a town near us where you do have to make an appt, but I believe it can be done online or by phone.................. and in the past few weeks the system in Denia has also changed (walk in now - not sure )

so you see - it might be easier than you think
