Default Setting up Business Abroad

Hello all,
I work in development for a TV production company and we are developing a show that will involved ex-pat Brits who have set up a company abroad.
Is there anyone on these boards who has done this?
Are there any Government development agencies or international agencies that are out there to help?
Please get in touch with me on +44 141 353 8440 or PM through this website if you'd like to talk to me or just point me in the right direction.
Thanks for any help,
Fraser.

Well, our primary interest would be to hear from those that have setup in the most popular countries, Australia, France, Spain, New Zealand and United States. However, we would also like to hear from others who have setup in emerging markets especially within Europe.
Thanks, Fraser

It is actually extremely easy to setup a business or corporation in the United States.

You need to find a state where you would like to incorporate and then fill out the papers and pay the small fee. Usually less than $100.

If you are in a particular industry then you should check with that states division or commerce to find out if it requires any licenses or has restrictions.

Other than that you are in business. Obviously there is a bit more to it than that but essentially you would be open for business.

A bit more than that? Heavens above, if there was ever an understatement then that must be it

I'm sure setting up a business anywhere is pretty easy. Running that business to generate enough of a profit to provide a living wage is the hard bit!

With that in mind I'm guessing Fraser is asking for people who've done more than just register a company name!

For example I've had an LLC for several years that is currently nothing more than a shell company that is used to own some domain names and an email server - not quite sure if Fraser's going to be all that interested in it though!
