Default euromillions lottery - going public

Personally I don't understand why the have gone public:

BBC News - Lottery win: Euromillions couple are 'tickled pink'

As far as I can see, nobody thinks they should have gone public - kidnapping, endless soliciting, relationships warped, etc etc. Wondering why they did, and thinking about the nice, socially integrated people they obviously are, it strikes me that they must have felt it was too much to keep such extraordinary news from those around them - they would have lost something priceless by walling themselves up in their secret. So the lesson is that there's a heavy social price to pay regardless of whether you go public or not.

On a lighter note it seems that this win will take them higher than the Beckhams in the rich list.

I wonder how would 161 million quid rank them in the egyptian rich list?

Maybe a little lower than Hosny but a couple of places higher than Horus?

They come from Largs... it would be very difficult to keep it a secret in such a small town.
I visit Largs regularly when I am in Scotland... so the winning ticket could have been me lol

I'm not saying it is not nice but they'll be chased all over the place.

They will end up in some gated community down South or something like that.

To be honest don't really think i would like to win that amount of money.....most people that i have read about who have won large amounts like that have said that it hasn't always brought a lot of happiness and has caused major fall outs with family and friends. It must be a hard thing to deal with when you go from just having a pretty normal income to vast amounts of money.

Largs was a regular day out for me as a child... play on the beach, arcades and a fish supper dinner followed by ice cream at Nardinis.. home of the best ice cream in the UK
