Lol...I love it...especially the American... so true!!

My daughter was here a short while ago, we went into McDonalds.
Girl serving.."I love your accent, where are you from"
Laura...."London, England"
Girl..."that's not in the USA, is it"
Laura..."No... it's in the UK....in Europe"
Girl...."Do you have dollars there??"
Laura..."No, we have pounds"
Girl...."What's pounds??"
Laura.."The currency....a pound's about 1 1/2 dollars"
Girl....Can you spend pounds there??
Laura.....Yes, same as you spend dollars here.
Girl.....Do they have banks there??
Laura...".cheeseburger and diet coke, please!!"

Seriously, most Americans have never travelled outside the US, except maybe Canada or Mexico....they think everywhere else is a third world country!!

I've also been asked how long I've lived here...and been told "You speak good English!"

What a scarey country I live in!!!

I recall listening to Dave Lee Travis (I think it was him)on radio one and he told a story about his American sister in law... On coming to a stop in the car at pelican crossing she asked why it was beeping and he told her it was to let the blind know it was a pelican crossing, she replied, we don't allow the blind to drive in America
