What, and employ somebody like the last one? At least he's our dinosaur not some overpaid Italian who could not be bothered to learn English.

He has the highest points gained in qualification of all managers that have coached England.

He had one bad game against a very good team and was robbed by the referee, see disallowed goal against Germany. Let that go in and then we see a different match.

But if you are happy at employing someone who has won nothing and can boast 12th place with West Brom then up to you. But this will only lead to you having a worst international record than the likes of Greece, Denmark etc etc
Not that previous english managers have done any better see Mc Laren.

We won the World Cup with an English manager!!!

Actually Roy made it to seventh in the EPL with Fulham. Doesn't sound great but that's like making the top three in Serie A with Bari or similar.

I don't think the comparison is right though. The top 4 in the Premiership are very strong / possibly the strongest in Europe beyond Barcelona but imho the rest of the league is not on a par with similar teams in other leagues.

Interesting theory, but how does that explain the fact that the team that finished fifth in our league won the Champion's League?

Did you watch how Chelsea won the CL this season?

, they finished in the top four last year and have done so for the past ten or so seasons.
