Why does it feel totally random for a woman to be by herself in a bar/pub in Dubai? Never mind the stares you get, but the assumption that you are there on some dodgy business just baffles me. You know like when you are having a bad day and just want to chill by yourself with a nice glass of wine, this can never happen in Dubai. Just my Dubai rant for the day

so dear ladies, if you try to have a night out in a bar here and you don't want the "gents" around to think you're up for picking up, do the following:
- don't have a shower for two days and don't use any deo/perfume, etc.
- don't wear make up of any kind
- don't brush teeth
- wear a bed sheet, preferably brown in colour, and the old shoes you wear when you clean the garden/shed/stable/balcony, etc.
- don't wax, and God forbid, don't brush or comb your hair for at least a couple of days

i'm just thinking this way men who go to bars to look for a quick lay would be sure you're not after a quick lay...

but the scary thought is: what if some like their women like this?...
