I have been prescribed various meds in the past and some can completely change the way you operate and basically turn you into a cold, unfeeling, zombie, which is why I looked at alternatives. Plus you can go through so many different medications before finding one that is suitable. That fact that he's not been monitored is appalling. You need to get him to a different doctor for a second opinion.

One absolutely crucial need for anyone going through what your X is going through, is having a solid support system, people around who care and can listen when he needs to talk.
Chocoholic,

The challenge here is that he likes the way he feels with his pills and wouldnt want to change to anything else. No such thing as second opinion and sad to say I dont know whether his support system aka his family is there for him. I mean they are there but they dont really interfere with his daily life.

He has completely stopped contacting me, and I am currently staying at my cousins place and when I see his FB pics, he started putting up pictures of him 10 years back, when he was partying. Very sad and pathetic but I do believe its the meds that are messing around with his chemicals.

IM glad EU-US that you are feeling so much better, in fact, there are thousands of people in this world who are like us, confused, sad but they became stronger knowing that its the drugs, not the partners fault.

Unfortunately depression is quite common in Dubai but the problem with these antidepressants is that they most often worsen the condition of the patients causing them to lash out at people taking care of them. If you read the leaflet in the box of the pills, they mention many possible side effects, most of which are quite unpleasant and include more depression. I really wish the doctors would mention this to the patient so patients can make better decisions.

Depression can be treated effectively without these pills through changes in one's lifestyle (I will elaborate on this if someone is interested). I speak as someone having gone through this and coming out of it successfully. If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to ask me.

Its really sad that relationships are being destroyed by medication. I wish I could reach out to people with the cures I have.

Hi Inthepit,

Can you tell me your background why you had to take the pills and how you got it off with your cures and what are they? It would be very much appreciated.

Thank you and God bless you
