This may offend but I would like some random opinions on this -

Q- would u agree that Dubai has more people that speak Bull*** and lie than any other place.
If you agree why would you think it's that way ?

By the way I'm from London and I dont find it even half as bad there!
I'm not disrespecting Dubai at all its just I find it funny when most people only talk about what they have etc.

Generally, people's ability to speak ******** is what got them a job out here in the first place. Well I say a job, I mean not being paid a salary but selling crap financial investments, leasing crap apartments, getting people crap jobs, etc, on 100% commission.

I hear the frase as ... Fake it til you make a lot !!!

People do lie a lot out here, probably because they can get away with it most of the time.

We live such isolated lives out here anyway. Even if we socialise a lot and have a lot of friends, most of the time, we do not have our immediate family in Dubai (aside from the ones living with their families), our neighbours do not interfere in our business and so we're free to do as we please without the fear of being held accountable for our actions.

I've come across my fair share of liars and hypocrites but as Toon has mentioned, there are a few of us that are reasonably normal . You just need to weed through a whole bunch of bullsh*tters to find the normal ones!

fully agree. now that you've made this observation, you could go two ways:

1. you may join the "happy hours" crowd and pretend they are friends, in the name of "multiculturalism," "diversity," and... what was the other piece of bull**** i keep reading about... oh yeah, "ethnic tolerance."

2. you may thank God you've got the opportunity to look inside your own self and discover who you want to be, what you can and can't do, and what your limits are.

dubai does that to people: whoever is a lier deep down will be a great lier here; whoever is essentially a wh*** will become one here; a hard-working person will still work hard; a father will remain a father, a husband a husband, and a mother a mother.

what is it you are? what is it you want? what is it the others should take you for?

look after your mind, soul, and body if you want to remain whole in this place; take a hobby; start cooking; read; drown in music; get a pet.

you'll survive. or you'll leave.

He did not hint anywhere that those who spout BS are from multicultural backgrounds...

Surely there are bullsh*tters from every culture/background?

I read Cami's comment more along the lines of Dubai being a transient expat community which has a higher number of people who, in the interests of seeming popular and boosting their egos, will establish a large group of acquaintances (not friends) who they can spout bullsh*t to without the fear of discovery. If that group of acquaintances happens to include a broad spectrum of nationalities, so much the better - as the bullsh*tter can then make claim to multiculturalism when talking to friends back home.
