I had a friend when I was in my late teens called Heini Nuuttinen (spelling?) from Finland and she told me how wonderful the place was ..... I always thought I would get around to visiting there one day but so far didn't make it

Yes it is a nice place...but i actually only like it in Summer there

Yes, I am. My wife is Finnish and we're considering moving. I read in this month's Economist that Finland is experiencing a shortage of skilled labor. I'm an attorney in America, and I speak decent Finnish.

I gather he wanted to know if there was anyone else considering it. Welcome to the forum. Finland certainly isn't the most common destination we hear about, for sure.

More people should consider it. Finland is in the midst of a labor shortage; they take out ads in almost every issue of the Economist seeking teachers, engineers, lawyers, etc. There's even a job-seekers clearinghouse site run by the government. It's crazy. Pay is high there (so are taxes, but the government services are pretty good).

They turn out some fantastic car race drivers in Finland , 2 of the top world racers today are Finns . Colin
