Default moving to Khartoum - insurance?

hi everyone,

I'll be spending one year in Khartoum as from September and - after going through tons of insurance providers that offer single/multi-trip covers (though they all seem to cover two-three week trips...) - a week ago I came across Bupa Explorer Bronze for UK residents (£245 a year for medical emergency, cancellation, and personal legal responsibility).

Has any of you had any experience with this package? Could you suggest alternatives? Their terminology (like every other ins. company I've researched) is kind of confusing: I'm not going on a "trip" to Sudan. I'll be spending a one-year there as a resident. In the Bupa and other insurance companies policy wording there's no mention of "stay" as opposed to "trip", though the Bupa policy wording states that "The maximum length for your trip has been selected by you, as shown on your policy schedule", though on the various screens you go through before paying there's no reference to "trip length" or "duration of stay", only the beginning and end of policy is mentioned...

I emailed them to no avail and I'll try to have a one-to-one talk with one of their representatives in London if I can - any idea of what else I could do? Thank you.
