The first thing they have to determine is whether they can actually move there. That depends on their citizenship and what the Swiss government requires. Switzerland is not in the EU, but they have treaties with the EU that cover rights to work there. If your daughter and son-in-law don't have EU passports, it may be much harder.

Yes they can set up business and move there.
The minimum financial requirement is Euros 100,000 that is per couple and/or inidividual.
They have to decide in what area they want to settle and register with the county, with proof of finances available and a professionally drawn up Business Plan showing that in future they would be providing jobs for at least 2-3 locals .
When they move to another county they will have to register again with that county , the same with their vehicles.

Hi everyone,
I'm a researcher for a UK based TV company and I'm working on a programme which follows British families as they move abroad to start a new life, ideally setting up their own business. I don't know if your daughter has made the move yet but if this sounds like something they might be interested in please feel free to pass on my contact details, so they can get in touch for more information.
thanks

Kind regards

daisybeck - Welcome to the forum. Since you want to contact people who have not posted in a while, maybe people who have had their questions answered, it might help to send them a private message (PM), in case they come back on the forum but don't go to their old thread. If you click on the userid, you will see a PM option in the dropdown list.
