Smile Any Kiwis in Dubai?

I am moving to Dubai in August with a band of six other Kiwis. Keen to find some others living there for advice and socialising.
Anyone out there?

So you're moving abroad but you only want to be friends with your own nationality?

I don't think its like that.. Kiwis are happy to meet other nationalities and we get along well with everyone..And off course we'll meet others!

But its nice to have the kiwi support.. know others that can give advise and share their experiences.. Just like any nationality identifies with its own we like to have a group too.. don't think there's anything wrong with that

Yeah I get that - just noticed in London as well that Kiwis and Aussies seem to stick yo their own rather than integrating with other nationalities, which is a shame.

I dont think its quite like that. Our culture tends to be watch and listen before you speak(for some) which can come across as snobby. As Kiwis we give most nationalities if not all a fair go and are quite sociable

Hey Mate working in Dubai usually the company takes care of your visa, so when you get the job they apply for visa and you get residency, you're linked to the company.

You find some people land here without a job where they get 30day visitor visa and look for work do interviews, most set up a job/interviews etc before they get here..

Now I'm not sure what sort of work your in, but with labouring or trades its not the best for white people.. usually the jobs are done by Indian/Pakistani/Philipino people as they're cheaper... Cheap labour built Dubai really!
