Default How hard to get dricing license in Dubai

We are malaysian-French family who has just moved to Dubai 2 weeks ago. I am holding a malaysian driving license which is obviously not recognised by the local authority here, therefore, I planned to take up the driving course after I have my resident visa. Any tips or any idea how hard to get the driving license nowdays? Need some encouragement as it is depressing to read the story on how hard it can be......

hello liewmarichez, my 18 year old daughter took the 42 driving lessons here in Dubai and passed her license first time. No problems and she had never driven before. If you can drive already I do not think it is hard.

If you have a license for a number of years that's not from a country allowed to exchange it directly, you may have to get 20 lessons (or just pay for them in cases and wait 2-3 months) do a test, and get it. It's not hard. Might cost you 50 sr per class ( SR 1000 + test fees). Check different driving schools in Dubai. Also there is a Dubai forum on this site with lots of information.
