Default Sweden Dependent work permit visa

Hello,

I hold a Indian citizenship and planning to move Sweden on a long stay dependent work permit visa. Can anyone clarify my below queries,

1. I want to go Sweden prior to my husband on a dependent visa and to work in a IT field. So can I go and work there prior to my husband.

2. If my husband's visa get cancelled in a case, if he did not go to Sweden ,then weather my dependent visa will be cancelled at the same time?

3.What is the duration I(dependent) can stay & work if my husband's visa get cancelled?

Thanks in Advance!!!

If I understand your question, your husband is the one with the work visa and you will have a dependent visa, based on your husband's work visa. Is that correct?

You should check with the Swedish consulate website, but if you are applying for a dependent visa, the visa will be valid for the same period of time as your husband's visa.

I'm not sure how it works for Sweden, but for many countries, if you are granted a dependent visa, you will not be eligible for a work permit. According to what I see on the Swedish consulate website, to get a visa with a work permit, you must have already secured a job before you apply for the visa, with your employer acting as your visa "sponsor." If you are applying for a dependent visa, you must submit your visa application at the same time that your husband submits his application (along with his work contract).
Cheers,
Bev

I don't think you can do that. Because in your case your visa is valid only when you come with your husband or you come after your husband is settled there (that's what dependency is), not the other way around. If you had a work visa and your husband would have got a dependent visa then probably you could have come first. But don't just go by my words. Discuss with the Consulate.
