Default Sweden Jobs

Hello people, first off thanks for the opportunity, this is a great forum.
So, I'm a portuguese citizen who accidently fall in love with Sweden, I've been in countless countries in the world and I just love it there.
I'm 20 years old and this year I'm going to university and have doubts Between Marketing and Web/Graphics Designer. Are this good jobs in Sweden? Marketing opens alot of doors in The management and economy bussiness aswell.
I know the main bussiness in Sweden is IT but was just wondering.
Also, if I speak swedish, will I be able to get a job? Let's say for example I'll move there when I finish my degree but obviously I probably won't get a shot at my bussiness straight away so will I be able to get a job in a lower 'level' if I speak swedish?

Thanks

Hello! I'm a Swedish student and just felt like I should warn you in regards to the Web/Graphics Design industry in Sweden. It's crammed. I suppose it's possible to get a job as a web/graphics designer but you'll have a lot of Swedish competition. I have 5 friends at the moment with degrees in graphic design that are currently unemployed.

Now I realize that sounded harsh and I'd like to add that if web design is a passion of yours you should obviously go for it! However if you plan on using it in Sweden, build a large portfolio and still expect lots of competition.

Marketing is something that is always needed and I'd say that out of the two that's the one you'll have the best luck with.

As for speaking Swedish, I'd say it's always a good thing and will probably help you get a job, but I highly doubt it'll be necessary. A very high majority understands English and it's usually a mandatory skill for any job in Sweden, so it should be very possible to get a job speaking English.

Thanks, that's what I realised about Web Design.
For what I see really, it's like impossible to get jobs in sweden as a foreigner, or at leaast that's what everyone is saying on the internet :S

I agree with Erlar. Graphic design and web design are dead end careers these days. Not just in Sweden. Pretty much everywhere is the same. Even if you find a job, the pay is low. It's a race to the bottom.

Marketing would be your better bet in general. Internet marketing, multimedia, social networking, etc is booming. Since your young, research the jobs that will be need in the future.

How relevant that specifically in Sweden I couldn't say. Good luck with full filling your dream!
