This is very untimely news for me! I am returning to the USA in a few weeks, one of the things I will do is empty my storage and save the $240 cost per month. I had planned to ship all the smaller items via LBC to the Philippines.

With all the security issues I suppose this will just keep happening and causing shipping costs to go up. The good part about LBC is that you pay a flat rate per box no matter the weight. Just have to be careful of the items you send. If I remember, there is a site listed in my post that should give banned items.

Phil,

Im not sure where you are located but I have used Alpha Cargo several times to get equipment over for my business on Clark . They are bonded, provide free insurance and have their own employees in the Philippines to provide delivery.

Hello Gene and Viol,

Do you know if DVD's and CD's are restricted? I have a lot and some are copies I've made.

Mikey,

I dont really know for sure. I would "assume" as personal property to bring with you there should not be a problem.
On the other hand, taking bootleg copies out of the Philippines can land you in jail.

Hi Gene,

Good advice. I thought of that when we bought some but I decided to leave them with my stepson.
