Default Hope everyone is faring well in the crappy weather/flooding

Just drove up to Clark and back from Subic. The flooding is really getting crazy. All of the fields/houses along the SCTEX flooded from Subic to Clark. When I left at 1030am the water was rising close to the SCTEX just south of Dinilupihan (about 2 feet from the road). Coming back about 2 hours ago it was across the SCTEX about 6 inches deep and rising. All of the towns are inundated and Olongapo is flooded now too. Saw several landslides on the hill cuts along the way.

Even the road approaching the freeport from the SCTEX was flooded at the bottom of the hill (1 foot deep). I had to take the right towards the Petron and then do a loop around to get my place high in the hills. Thank god I have a high clearance vehicle Mits L200 4x4.

I also heard that the flooding is bad in Manila and the NLEX is closed at Balintawak.

I hope everyone here is high and dry (not on their rooftops)... It doesn't look like this rain will be gone until late Thursday. I kinda feel bad for the poor/dislocated and farmers that are most likely going to lose their crops in this mess.

That really sucks for all. Been following posts on FB and this seems far worse than 2009. Wife has her visa int on 13th and I arrive on 12th....we'll see, as could see that getting postponed possibly.

US Embassy consular svcs closed 7-8 Aug due to flood conditions. Since rain to last to Thurs night, could see this closure being all week.

My understanding is that NLEX between Manila and Angeles is and has been closed due to flooding. Flying into the country can be risky if Manila airport happens to be closed as they will divert to Clark in Angeles and then no way to get to Manila. Check airlines often before boarding to come here...

Default Roads and weather

NLEX is clear now, as is SLEX.
EDSA is mostly ok except for Tuazon underpass which is flooded.
Stay away from the obvious places as mentioned on the news.
I suggest you follow Tweets from MMDA for traffic updates.
