Me & my husband haven't had a problem every time we watch a movie...Either at SM Dasma Cavite or Mall of Asia. The only thing we're suppose to avoid is eating before going to a movie.because no matter how good the movie is,we always feel so sleepy.LOL.

Default Are we talking about English or Tagalog movies...?

I went to one Tagalog movie and there was not a sound. I again attend an English speaking movie and a group of young women talked throughout the movie in Cebu. I do't think they understood English too much but they ruined the movie for my son, my nephew and me. I don't know Tagalog and was surprised that they don't have subtitles for tourists. I have seen movies in Colombia, Equador and Mexico; they have subtitles in all the major tourist city cinemas. The cinemas had many tourists filling up their theaters. I think Tagalog movies can make more money with subtitles to draw in tourists.

Maybe it just depends on the rules (if any) of the theater owner. We were gonna go to a movie at a mall in Angeles City a few weeks back but just too many people trying to get in. So, ended up shopping instead. Maybe next time we'll find out what it's like in the movie...

I was also thinking that subtitles on Tagalog shows would be great. Then I realised that most of what I dislike about any local shows I've tried to watch is that the music doesn't fit the action at all. It blankets over all the dialogue, is a different mood to the scene being watched, and reaches low points and climaxes in all the wrong places. I just can't stand watching.

When I watch a DVD sometimes they have to watch and are surprise how great the movie is. The kids don't care, they love the english movies.
When there are too many women in the house, they will talk very loud over what I am watching so I know it's better to turn off the TV rather then get mad.
Billy, you realised they like to watch Tagalog telly bec its the language they are familiar ( not that they don't understand nor like English Channel. Mind you when I am in Philippines, I spend a lot of time watching Tagalog films and News ( I cannot keep up) but it feels like home.

On watching movie with people using mobile phones while inside the cinema- that's just unacceptable and pure rudeness with no consideration to other viewers. I wish the managers of those cinema's do something about it. Trust me I have had some little argument with someone letting her phone ring for ages.. This is the scenery..

Me. Watching an English film which I missed while in UK and I only have just sat in my chair for a minute when a phone rung...I was annoyed since I had paid to watch a film and wish to enjoy it without someone spoiling it. So, after the little madam lets her phone ringing for ages I just couldn't ignore it so I came over to see her.

Me, "excuse me,Ms.could you possibly turn your phone off please"? Since,, we're in a cinema and trying to watch a film, "I add", cannot you go out if you wish to have a conversation ?

Little Madam, ignored me, totally, and turned phone off... I went back to my seat. Few minutes later it rung again,But, this time, she appeared to turn the volume down.
.
Me, I lost hope at that moment. To make matter worst I was sat next to a lady with crying baby!

Come on Richard, you will get used to it( the screaming audience and screeching noise) I guess, it takes a lot of getting used to it if you haven't abandon the whole telly thing! The local drama or film don't have same quality as the one from the west since some are produced on cheap budget!

Mind you if you want to watch half decent film or perhaps very decent film. Look for Brilliante Mendoza . I saw many of his films In Tagalog with English subtitles. Like He's name he is brilliant if you appreciate indie films. I saw few of he's films in Arts Centre in UK I have just missed him giving talks. Some of them are film in Angeles City and realistically meaningful in depth. I bought some of his films while I was there but sadly, no subtitles.

I came to conclusion I will have to buy the film and watch it on telly but not all hotel have DVD player!
