Hi John,

Yes, Philippine law requires that to come here at all you must have with you a round trip ticket or a ticket for onward passage to any other country. You are given a free 21 day stay visa stamp upon arrival here and that can be renewed every two months for up to two years.

I usually buy a ticket on tiger airways from Philippine to Singapore which is very cheap and I never use as my exit ticket. Gene, the law has changed: the 21 day automatic initial visa is now 30 days.

Good to know. They keep changing things and since I don't leave anymore I don't always have the current info.

Thanks...

Hi John,

It's not an easy thing to do. So far as I know, the only possibility that would be RELIABLE would be to take a taxi from Manila to Clark Airport. It's gonna be expensive but will get you up here.
Other than expense I see two probable problems you face. One is that the amount of traffic getting out of Manila can be a time consuming nightmare and two, airline requirements for an early check in for your flight from Clark to your destination.

After working for the airlines (in the states) for many years as well as knowing what traffic and life is like here in the Philippines, I would really encourage you to rebook your flights. Give yourself an overnight in either Manila or Angeles (Clark area) to avoid missing your connecting flight in Clark.
Another option is that there are now some airlines that fly from overseas directly into Clark. That might be the best bet and completely avoid Manila.

Gene

For a taxi Manila to Clark I'm GUESSING close to $50us dollars. Would depend in the end on your dealing with a driver and set a fare before leaving Manila. Although it would take a bit of extra time, you would probably be able to negotiate a lower fare if you have an airport taxi take you to a large hotel and then get a different taxi from that location.

Count on at last one hour in the airport in Manila to claim baggage, immigration, and customs. Sometimes longer. Plus about 3 hours minium by taxi from Manila to Clark. Seems pushing is very close as if you miss your Clark flight they will charge a high re-booking fee also.

You did not say how early you are arriving. Philippine airlines from the USA can be anywhere between 4:30 am to 6:00 am depending on when they leave and wind condition. That is more than enough time to get to Clark. It is cheaper to have a car waiting for you, I recommend beeline travel or Margareta station for about 2,500 pesos, a taxi would be 3,500 pesos. Exchange your dollars for pesos in Angeles, field street, it is on your way. The airport gives real bad exchange rate.
