Default Don't lose hope...

As a teacher in Egypt, it may be easier to find a job teaching once you're here. There are a lot of reasons why. 1) most schools don't want to fly you out here to interview, 2) they want to hire you on a local contract (make sure you get a Foreign Contract) and 3) the turn over rate is high. People come out and don't like it so they fly home. Don't lose hope schools are desperate for foreign teachers, and now is the hiring season! You may find it once you're here!

Good Luck,
Susie

Here can be another way of finding a job ,there is a newspaper called ewaseet and between many other things there are also job offers. to see the online version u have to acces eWaseet: Al Waseet newspaper online website and choose the country u are intrested because is not just for egypt and u also have the posibility to choose the city and after go to the jobs pages. these days are some advertisments about "english teachers required" but i just looked for cairo. and is written they need foreigners english speakers to work as teachers -no need any qualification(specially if u are native speaker), there are some asking for experience but are without also.
i hope i was little "usefull"

I am very interested in the above mentioned position. I am a Dutch national, and have lived overseas for the past 8 years (Gabon, Congo, Scotland and South Africa). I will be moving to Cairo in August. My boys will go to the French school (Premiere and Terminale) and would like to know more about the position you're offerring. Please do not hesitate to contact me via email. I am fluent in English, speak French (although not as fluent as English), native Dutch and some German.

Default Just a quick response

[QUOTE=SalmaUS;41478]Hi all, I am not to sure about this site, no one has responded to my first post; thought I would try again. My husband wants me to move to Egypt...in order to do that I NEED A JOB. I have searched the web and come up relatively flat. The job should be in Hurghada or Luxor (we could live in either place). I have experience teaching English as a Second Language and have sent my resume and letter of recommendation to a couple of schools but have heard nothing. Any ideas, leads or even job offers LOL? Tried to attach my resume and letter of recommendation from my employer in Japan where I taught ESL...couldn't do it...if interested let me know and I'll email you copies.[/QU

Dear Salma

Hi, just wanted to say really to find a job in Hurghada or Luxor, you would probably need to be living there, most employers in these places are not prepared to pay the travelling costs and international salaries. Probably the only chances you would have to secure a job from abroad would be in Cairo, you could just search for esl teachers wanted in Egypt and I am sure you will find some, but as I said probably they would be in Cairo..............hope this helps.
Best wishes
Philomena

Hi Mariam - I have had a look at the eWaseet paper online and even when I select English, the job ads are all in Arabic... Anyone else had that problem and can tell me where to find the English versions?!
Thanks in advance
Nina

Default No worries

Egypt is a great place to be! No need to worry about finding a job or getting settled. Plenty of editing work where I work and English teaching centers are offering native speakers decent salaries. Once you arrive in Cairo, email me. I have constant flow of editing work.

Have a safe trip!
