Quick hello

Hi, just started processing of visa application. Hubby a carpenter, 3 young children. Taranaki or Canterbury???? Have nightmares of moving kids to a horror of a place, can hubby find a job? Any thoughts/comments would be greatly appreciated

Welcome to the forum.

Other than the links in the "Thinking of moving to NZ" post I can't offer much help since we moved from the UK to Oz last year.

However if you haven't already done so please have a read through the posts here since others are moving too.

Well I'd say 90% of people emigrating are in the same boat! They have no idea about areas/schools/job market etc.

Some manage to do a reccie trip over to get an idea of which area they would like to move to and check out the job situation, but it can be expensive (taking into account how much it can cost to obtain a visa).

Luckily, we did a reccie trip and we sorted out an area and which school our boys would go to. Took a lot of the worry away to be able to have done that.

There will be members on here who will be able to give you advice, also Google will be your best friend for the next year or so....research as much as you can before you go over.

Thanks for the advice, am hoping to do a reccie in the near future and look at both areas. Spending many an hour on the internet just researching as much as possible. Any help appreciated.
