I would like to know what the country has to offer? I am very unfamiliar other than name and location. I would like to know what if anything brought you to New Zealand, How it differs from other countries. What is the real estate market like. Is it hard to find a place to live.

I have been to New Zealend and overall i thought it was fantastic! I went there for 5 days of my travels and done lots of different activities, New zealend is great for active people, not the best place for tourist attractions or shopping etc. Its quite set back to the passed if you get me. Theyre quite cultural still and not up to date with latest trends.. But it is a beautiful country and well worth the visit

How long!! With the greatest respect...five days is no where near enough time to gain an impression of a country and its people as varied and vibrant as NZ. Try five years.

You are joking aren't you? Please tell me you are.
New Zealand has the most wonderful, unspoilt scenic attractions and activities for tourists anywhere in the world. Witness Northland, the bay of Islands, Taupo and Rotorua, the volcanoes, the East Cape, Bay of Plenty, Coromandel Peninsula, Hawkes Bay & Napier, The Wairarapa and Kapiti, the Marlborough Sounds, Kaikora and the whale watching, Canterbury, the Southern Alps, the alpine passes and Fox Glacier, Wanaka and Queenstown, Milford and the fjiords, Mackenzie country and Southland. Furthermore, the main centres of Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin are simply bustling with night life, the arts, cafe, restaurant & bistro culture and shopping all with cosmopolitan variations. What more could you want?

Absolute nonsense! There is a strong cultural heritage for sure, but "not up to date" is completely inaccurate. NZ leads the world in certain industries and has a very strong standing in IT and technology.

Yay!! Some truth is spoken at last! Don't listen to all this twaddle from Skillage, Attagirl. NZ is one fabulous big secret - isolated maybe, but a world away from all the troubles on this planet!

New Zealand had enough interesting things to keep me busy for two months, and I skipped a few things. And no, I'm not the athletic, hiking type.

The weather, however, is not good. If you like sunny, warm days, look elsewhere.

Hi Attagirl,

I have just joined this website and now read your question about New Zealand. I hope that by now you have been and seen for yourself. I moved to new zealand from uk 5 years ago. I tried to return for a few years last year but only lasted 9 months before having to come back. It is now definitely home for us and we would never think of leaving. My 2 daughters are here now as well and they are confirmed Kiwis too. How can there be not much to see in a country the size of uk but with only 4 million people?! Watch the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. It could only have been filmed in NZ! The people are laid back and welcoming and they take you as they find you. As to finding somewhere to live, well, it is so much easier than the uk I don't know where to start. On 2 occasions I have flown here and found a job, a house and a car within 2 weeks! Try that in UK!!! I am now a Real Estate Agent here in Hamilton. Ring (0064 27 307 9274) or email me (nigel.sherwen@xtra.co.nz) if you want any help.
