Question Moving to NZ.Any ideas?

Hi,
I have not been to NZ but reading the reviews in the forum,it's sounds a good place to move to.Our initial choice was Oz but was a bit too late-reached 45 too soon!!!
Am a doctor by profession but need a change of profession and badly need a change of lifestyle.Have been doing Rehabilitation councelling for the past 10 years. Can't seem to find this job in the SOL.
Any views how to get into NZ?

Look at Immigration New Zealand - there is a large section telling you all your options. Your current qualifications and work experience may get you enough points without a job offer. You don't have to take a job in your current profession once you land!

I'd advise not to give up on Oz completely, have you talked to an immigration consultant? You shouldn't have many problems getting into NZ as a doctor and once you're there you can do anything your heart desires.

Hi,
Oz is still my first preference. The passing rate for the medical entrance exam is too high and it is a requirement to work as a doctor in both Oz and NZ.I am planning to take it again but it is a bit tough at 45,full time work and with the kids.
So,I was considering if I can apply as a Rehab councellor instead.
Either try the PR or a work visa.Which do you think will have a better chance?

The trouble with the work visa is that it isn't permanent. I could have come on a work visa 15 years ago, but with a young family i didn't want to run the risk of having to bring them back if the job failed. With a PR you know you can stay.

I have 2 young kids as well.Is it possible to apply for a PR as a Rehab Councellor?Does it come under social work?Because social work is one of the skills required.
I might as well try while taking the exam. Can I?
