Talking Football

Dear everyone who replied,
Many thanks for your reply. Sorry I couldn't reply earlier but my braodband is down until next Friday and I have been in the dark. I am at a library checking my mail. Anyway, as a Concerned mum, I had already checked all the websites for NZ League, Small whites, All whites, Wellington Phoenix etc. but I needed some local opinion for local schools and clubs etc. I even took my boys to watch the last round of NZ league match in Palmerston North at the beginning of April - YoungHeart Manawatu vs Canterbury - the local team lost 5-1. The boys were not very impressed with the standard of the teams but we only watched one match. Anyway, thanks for your contributions and please keep coming.

Regards,

Concerned Mum (I am concerned really for my mental welfare - I just want a quiet life!!)

Banter , yes , confront , no , there happens to be a suttle difference , a battle of wits i enjoy , but i have learned that this particular forum has no place for this behavior , your avatar warns me against it and your superfluos purple fancy writing enhances this gut warning , i back off graciously on the invite . What some people may see as superfluous others may see as fun at a time when some people are very stressed out when trying to make tough decisions in their life.

Personally I don't see Dolly as confrontational at all, and that is after spending a lot of time with her as the other moderator on the Aussie country forum.

Just my opinion of course

Karen

You may have read it as sarcasm but I didn't.

I wasn't saying that you are stressed out but there are some people who are on this forum. A reply isn't just for you since there are loads of other people reading it too.

And was that sexist comment serious or a joke? You see on a forum it can be very hard to tell

Maybe we should just get back on topic

Regards,
Karen

Smile No need to worry!!

Hello, being soccor mad myself i can understand why your boy is a bit upset. However, soccor is a big part of New Zealand sport, nearly every school in every town play it, i live in Gore of alll places, and they have several soccor teams. England also send out several soccor scouts a year to look at new zealand players, and let's be honest you have more of a chance over here of standing out than you do back home.
Your lad will be fine, who knows he might even enjoy a bit of rugby??? Hope your trip goes really well!!
