Smile New Zealand in Winter

Hello
I am new to this and have joined as we are thinking of migrating to New Zealand. As part of this first step we intend to come on holiday for 3 weeks however the only time we can do this is in July/August. We did want to tour the whole country in a motorhome but I know this is your winter. Would it be too cold to do this and if so are there plenty of motels/hotels throughout the journey? We are a family of four - mum, dad and two boys (4 and 7). Any ideas to help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Tracey
We travelled part of NZ by Campervan in the summer but I do know some people do it in Winter, as the Campervans are especially equipped and insulated for the weather. I include a link of FAQ that also answers questions regarding the need for snowchains in Winter etc. I cannot help with accommodation along the way, maybe you could enquire from the link. Hope this helps.
