Default Costs of transporting animals to NZ

Hi folks

We are hoping to come to NZ within 14 - 16 months and will be bringing 2 small/medium sized dogs and 4 cats with us
Can anybody tell me what they paid to bring their animals across ? and did anybody use an agency to arrange it all
We are coming from the South of France so our pets will also have to go into quarantine for 30 days so I will need to find out the costs of that

Thanks

Hi again,
We brought our medium/large dog over with us. It cost about £2500. I'm not sure about shipping from France. We used a company that specialises in pet shipping and would recommend them to anyone. Our dog had to have certain tests on exact dates etc. It was a relief to have them sort it all out for us.

Bad news Im afraid you will have to go through an agent who have the monopoly with the airlines. It cost me more to bring my lab here than my son and all our furniture.

Hi,

Hope these links may help:

Your pets | MAF Biosecurity New Zealand

FAQs about Importing Cats and Dogs | MAF Biosecurity New Zealand

We shipped our dog over from the UK to Australia and used an agent...and I'm so glad we did. It took so much of the worry away..they took charge and did everything. Sorry I can't recommend any pet carriers from France.

Dolly
