Default Anyone got Icelandic volcano problems?

We have in our household at the moment! We've two friends over from the UK who were supposed to fly back on Friday. Fortunately we heard about the volcano on the morning, so contacted their airline. Bottom line - the first flight they could book them on is next Sunday - i.e. 9 days delay!! One of them works in a school - guess he'll be missing the start of term

And it looks (like everyone else) as if the insurance companies won't be paying out - I really feel for all those people stuck in transit cities, racking up huge hotel bills that they can't afford!

Hi Terri

As you know, we are meant to be moving permanently tomorrow (Monday 19th). We have JUST found out (at 10pm the night before) that we are NOT flying. Have managed to rebook for the 26th, so exactly a week later. Whilst disappointed, I am exceedingly grateful that we are at home, rather than stuck in an airport or hotel spending money we don't have. We have no deadline, just a 'wishline'. We are blessed and lucky, and know that that first bottle of wine in NZ will taste even better!!!

Safe journeys and blessings to all affected by such forces of nature!!!!

Jen

Of course! And hopefully by the 26th things will be moving as they should.

As you say, thank goodness you're not stuck in an airport transit lounge somewhere....
