We want to move to nz love the area of napier we have two young children i am a joiner i know my job is in demand over there. we have paper work from a imagration company to fill in cant believe the cost, but really want to get out off the uk too many scroungers over here we would be gratefull for any advice anybody could give us

Hi Peterlaw, I live in Auckland but have British contacts in the Napier area (which is on the South Island) & also Christchurch.

Yes, Immigration costs are very high, even with GBP. Cost of living Very expensive as well , considering Income vs Expenses.

NZ housing generally not insulated, which is really a factor for it's climate. They use heat pumps & gas heaters for heating.

On the bright side, I believe Napier gets most of the sun in NZ & is quite a scenic place.

Thanks jozijoe for the reply. Would you be able to put me in touch with someone you know in napier?. I would be very gratefull. How long have you been in Aukland for and what is it like. At the moment we live in a quiet town and would really like to stay away from the city but ,it all depends on where the work is. Any info is very much appreciated.
