Hi Jenswaters,

Did you live in New Zealand in 1997? Thats a long time ago, things might have change a bit since then. You painted quite a negative picture in your attached document, not sure if I agree with all of it.

My friends who have recently emigrated to NZ have painted a very different picture than yourself. I guess NZ has moved on a bit...

Anyway we had our telephone interview this morning (03/02/2010) and hopefully all is well. Will find out the result in the next few days.

Questions they asked where:

1) Basics about your family to check that you were who you were.
2) What your employment prospects where and how you were looking for jobs - Primary Applicant.
3) What your employment prospects where and how you were looking for jobs - Second Applicant.
4) Did we see any challenges to getting a job in NZ.
5) Did we have any other skills if we couldn't get a job in our chosen fields.

6) Why did we pick new Zealand. What attracted us to it.
7) What did we know about th eeducation system.
8) How had we familiarised ourselves with New Zealand Culture.
9) What were our long term aims when we got to New Zealand.

10) What was our support in NewZealand, did we have friends or family there.
11) Where we in a good financial position.
12) When did we plan to move to New Zealand.
13) Where abouts in New Zealand did we want to base ourselves.

It was basically a really nice chat about our prospects and what we wanted to do.

They said they would make a decision in about 1 week, so heres hoping.

Hi

NO NO!!!!!!!!!!! It's not MY view, just the information I had collated through my research. I copy and paste a lot of info from the chats I read into a Word document so that I can pull it up, add to it, and refer to it for ALL persepctives. I SERIOUSLY don't have this view!!! I think that some of the outdated info (I am not sure if living experiences are totally accurate after 15 years), but it always good to have both sides of the story when making decisions. I actually have a lot more factual, recent and positive stuff in another document, but can't find it!!! Apologies for any misleading "advice" I appeared to be passing on. But the questions are DEFO recent and relative!!!

Hope that this clears things up!!!!

I hope that the interview comes off with positive results (I am sure it will be fine). Thanks you for sharing your experiences. My interview is next Monday.

Jen

Nothing to be sorry for in any way. It was entirely my fault that I didn't check what I had added, explain it better, or edit it. No problems either way.

Keep us posted as to how things are progressing for you, and how the 'timeline' pans out

Jen
