Default Help need on getting Police certificate from country other than home country

Hi

I am currently working in Japan (less than 11months) near Greater Tokyo area.
I am required to submit a Police Certificate from India as well as Japan for ITA.

According to INZ website, I applied to below offices
For India Police Certificate - My parents applied at said police office in India using authority letter. And I already recieved the same.
For Japan police Certificate - I had applied at Indian Embassy in Tokyo Japan office. However, Suddenly again Iam realizing whether the path is correct or not..I want to confirm. INZ said to follow the procedure from website for police certificate...
How to obtain a police certificate.

I looked for country- India only and not Japan and accordingly I applied to Indian embassy in Tokyo for police certificate for Japan, However to confirm, for Police certificate from Japan means where should I get it from...

for a Japan Police Certificate - should I apply to Indian embassy or Should I apply to Police office in Japan of the area I reside in Japan...confused here?

Any idea or suggestion/advice?
Running out of time...

Please help...

Thanks

I don't know about Japan, but in Thailand you can apply to the Thai equivalent of the FBI and they will do all the searching for you (for the fee). It still works out cheaper for me than getting one from the UK. Maybe Japan has something similar - try asking the Japanese Immigration Dept as to what is acceptable.

Hi
Thank you for the same. I called the local area Foriegn Ward office and also the Indian Embassy and confirmed from them to get it from the Prefecture police headquarters of the local area of residence in Japan. Hence accordingly called related dept and they said they issue the same within 8 days and no fees. Great!!!

Thanks you again.
cheers

Hi

As per Police certificate is concerned, the instructions states that if a person lived in another country for more than 12 months than need to get police certificate (PC) from there too. Even though my period of stay is less than 12 months in another country, However, I require a PC from here too. May be because of Iam currently still living in another country other than home country.
