Default Should I visit from OZ?

I'm working in Australia on a temporary company transfer. Of course I want to see as much of Australia as I can while I am there, and I'm already planning a trip to Queensland and the Great Barrier Reef.

Several people have told me that instead of devoting all my vacation time to Astralia, I should plan at least one trip to New Zealand. I'm wondering if that is a good idea. Or whether I should stick with my original plan to see as much of Australia as possible.

Default Depends on how far away you are from

Hi,I would say yes visit NZ while you are over this part of the world, its only a 3 1/2 hr flight from sydney and you could do a quick tour in about 10-14 days. Australia I know is a great country to see, and very big, NZ however is smaller by far and you will get a good feel for it in a short time.
And you could always stay on after your contract and travel.

How did you get on? Hopefully you came over here for a least a short visit - there are a lot of difference between traveling around the two countries.

Although as an expat-Aussie I understand there's a lot to see and do in Australia (especially if you have limited time).

So - how did you get on?

As an Expat-Aussie I understand there is a lot to see and do (especially when time is limited) - however it's also worth a least a quick visit over to New Zealand if you can - traveling here is a totally different experience.
