Unhappy Experience/advice re changing type of Visa/Permit once you're in NZ?

Hello all, just wondered if anyone has any experience or advice about changing the type of Visa you possess, once you're in New Zealand?

My partner and I are from the UK and were both offered jobs in NZ with the same company. The Visas were issued because our employer could prove that no suitable New Zealand workers were available, or could commit to these jobs. NZ Immigration issued us with a 2-year Temporary General Work Visa which allows us only to work for this employer. However, our employer is not playing fair with us. My partner has been offered another job and is in the process of switching his Visa so that he can work for the other company. I cannot get ONE job that guarantees me 30 hours a week, but I could get two or three part time jobs, but Immigration wouldn't agree to that. So I thought I could maybe apply for a Spouse/Partner Visa, which would give me an open work permit.

Sorry that's a bit long and drawn out, but just wondered if anyone had had any experience with Immigration in regard to switching from a Work Visa to a Spouse Visa?
Thanks, Jules

Default My hubby

arrived on a spouse visa because I was working here on a work visa, then he got a job and got a work visa, then we both got permanent residency, so I don't see why it should be harder to go from a work visa to a spouse one. All you can do is apply I guess.

no worries, take your husbands passport in with the application(Or certified copy showing his permit and visa) evidence of relationship and you should by rights be issued with a partner of a work permut holder visa in line with his. (Unless your a bank robber or a politician.)

What if your spouse is a permanent resident in your country of citizenship. Example, you are on a work visa and you are from the US and your spouse is perm resident in US, but a citizen of Canada
