Default All Blacks win....immediate mood change

I've notice from this side of the Tasman (I'm wrting from Oz) how the mood of New Zealand changes when the AB's win. Especially if they beat their arch-enemy the Wallabys.......and even better, thrashing them to pulp!

My NZ rellys seem to have an air of 'lightness' in their voices and generally laugh a lot when they call me. Don't worry, I'm on their side too.... except I get this 'swagger' when walking into a room full of Aussies! and this supercilious grin that won't go away!

They immediately walk away from me or, "hey Maaaaate! didja see our new world champpeeen upside down bare-bum skate boarder? won it in Chan-ting-fong-pung world chanpionships yester dee.... eh? not bad for a 83 year old from Dooomba-looka-looka eh? 'stralian mate!'

The question is this.....as a new Kiwi, do you see the mood change around you? do you suddenly get unexpected discounts at the shops? are they more happier than last week ( the native residents I mean....it's OK I'm allowed to say that, I'm brown myself!....no PC here Bro!)....is this a real observation? or is it just me?

Yes! And it amazes me the huge following there is for netball too. In the UK it's a game that schoolgirls play reluctantly. In NZ it gets about the same TV airtime3 as Rugby. Amazing....

Pommy women play netball? naaaah! you need b-i-i-i-g bums, b-i-i-i-i-g thighs and big breasts, a whole lotta grunt to play that game....give us a break! most of the NZ women I'm talking about are my coussies, so I should know. They are fridge-terrorists! English women are dainty....ummm, small boobs, no thighs and umm cute little bums (can you guess who's the fan here???)......

On the other hand, a cousin from Auckland has just been employed last week as a netball coach in the Midlands and she is doing the opposite to what you've done. At age 63 too.
