any one with experience emigrating as a nurse

hello was just wondering if any one has got any recent ex of emigrating as a nurse to NZ & what the requirements are? how long work ex have u got to have? whats the pay and hospitals like? what have you got to do for the nursing and midiwfery council? how long did it take to emigrate and cost? thanks x

my sister came to stay with me while i was living in NZ, she is a registered nurse in scotland, she decided to stay so applied for a job at local hospital,and got it, and they told her what visa she needed,so she applied for visa and got it within 3 days n started work, but apparently they like u to get visa before u leave your country, my sister didnt know this and just came over and applied for job and got it, so she was lucky

I came over just over 3 years ago as a nurse. I was lucky in a way to line up a job before i headed over, unlucky in that it was not as good as i thought it may have been. I am now in a job in Auckland that i love and am really glad i made the move. The process took me approx 6 months - took ages for nursing registration because of the amount of paperwork you need to provide but the visa was quick. I came over on a one year work visa and then converted it to residency when i was here.
Do you have any ideas where in NZ you would like to work...most health board accept applicants from overseas and help in getting you over here. What type of nursing are you looking for?
