San Francisco to Christchurch: Shopping

Hi, everyone. We're moving from San Francisco to Christchurch in just four weeks and I want to be sure that we're bringing what we need.

I'm thinking we need new hiking shoes and jeans and plenty of electrical adapters and blankets. Is there anything that people wish they'd remembered to bring when they got there?

Is there anything that's terribly expensive there that we should purchase now? Please, save us the "sticker shock" if you have any tips.
