Hi there it's dani here.
Can someone give me some advice of how to deal with trying to open up a store that is half papeleria and also half abarottes?
The thing is that I have spent a few months trying to find adequate space to rent here at a reasonable price in Yautepec, Cuernavaca, and also Cuautla and couldn't find anything reasonable other than very small spaces which I can't see very well as being adequate space for this venture really.
I would also be very happy to at least find a location where there is a street sign that actually has a name on it to get to my possible business as well as a number for the address on the door of the locale.
If anybody has any information in these towns I have mentioned of where I can teach English as a Second Language please let me know ok?

Regards,

D A N I .

Welcome to the forum! Do you think that, as a foreigner, you are being quoted unreasonable rents? I don't think there is anything you can do about street signs. I've got a business card somewhere from a hostel that doesn't even give the street address. If the taxi driver doesn't know where the hostel is, the 'address' is "across the street from the old radio station" because that is how everyone in town knows the corner, even though the radio station moved years and years ago. That means that in addition to all your other requirements, you should probably hunt for a place that has an address phrase that people know.

hello and thank you synthia for you reply.
i am thinking at this point of possibly to not rent a space for a small business here since the hassle and such is driving me insane and find that i am not getting anywhere with this riggamaroll.
my other option is also to try and get reasonable employment here as an english as a second language teacher or else as an english tutor or translator.
i was also wondering if anybody here knows of any positions like this that are available i can apply for in morelos state or even in the cuernavaca area?
i would be also interested in a position working as a personal support aide which is a kind of a nursing line of work i did in canada i wouldnt also mind doing here in this are i live in near cuernavaca as well.
if someone can respond to me here with any ideas or even a job they can offer me in any of these fileds i would be very grateful.

regards,

dani.

Your chances of finding any Curenavaca specific info on this board are slim. You might try this Yahoo group

Dani,
Are you a Mexican citizen or do you hold 'Inmigrado' status. If not, you will need a visa with permission to work in Mexico; not easy to get if you are a foreigner.

Try Googling 'Cuernavaca esl'. I don't think esl teachers are well-paid, though.
