Apostilling Documents

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone.

I ended up getting my doc notorized at the US embassy on Paseo de la Reforma ($20 or $30usd), then mailing it to California´s Secretary of State for the apostille seal ($26usd), with a request for it to be mailed to my family in the US so they can fed ex it to me.

Yeah, the meaningless notarization thing. The consulate just gives up and has you write your name, then notarizes that you signed and everyone is happy.
