Default Who qualifies to get a permanent residency visa in mexico?

Since my spouse and I have been in Mexico for almost 4 months now, what is requred by the government here in order to open up a business here to live in this country permanently?
I also know that in order to teach English as a Second Language in this country that the school you're applying at will do the paperwork required by the government here in order to get a work visa where I'm not sure whether a work visa is also an f3 visa is it?
Also I was wondering if my spouse and I even on a tourist visa as non retired men are allowed to buy and own property here?

Thanks for your time.

I wouldn't consider anything permanent until you are a citizen. Everything else is year by year. Just go to your local immigration office and they will have the requirements for an FM3 to do business (Actividades Lucrativas).
Tourist and Immigration Visas - Mexico
Yes you can buy property even with a tourist visa

Here is a page link for information concerning the different types of visas and their requirements. The Internet is the best place to start your information search, followed by a personal visit to your closest customs and immigration office. With information from the Internet, you will be better prepared when you visit the C&I office. Consulate General of Mexico - Visas

(Consulate General of Mexico - Visas)

You will need to copy and paste (Consulate General of Mexico - Visas) into your search engine (Google, Yahoo, etc) as the URL address will not dispay in the posted text.

The web site that I noted on my message is in English and lists all of the visas and their requirements that are available to foreign citizens. I haven't figured out how to have the URL address of the web site stay in the text message that's posted to the forum. The URL address converts to the name of the web site! Any help on that situation? Thanks!

Steve ... there are just lots of pages on that site. Also US Consulates are famous for having outdated info on their web sites. For instance, the business and retirement applications below are identical and I've never seen that one in Mexico. Immigration offices still differ greatly in their procedures - some make it easy and others prefer you to jump thru many hoops.

Nonimmigrant Visa (FM3) for business

Nonimmigrant Visa (FM3) for retirees

Thanks for the updated info! I was going with the info from my Internet searches. I do read Spanish so the language thing wasn't a problem. NB: All the pages on the site that I noted are available in English.
