There are times when "old school" is appropriate; this forum is not one of those "old school" venues!

Well, Larry, I wish I were still living in the City to meet you. It is a tough place to meet people, gay or straight or in-between. Everyone is busy with their own lives, and a lot of them are busy just riding the metro between home and work.

My partner and I lived in Mexico City for three years working as beat journos, that is walking the streets and riding the metro to find stories. We were the Travel and Culture editors of an online zine in English. That was a great way to meet people.

I love the Pink Zone, but never really met anyone there who was of any interest at all. Neither I nor my partner go to bars or antros, but hanging out in cafes is a lot of fun in the Zone.

We lived in Coyoacan, and the plaza there on weekends, or anytime at all, is a great place to meet people, although most are young and sometimes a bit painfully hip. Try the wonderful bookstore on the corner of the plaza or one of the cafes alongside it. Also Gandhi books at Miguel Angel de Quevedo is a lovely place with comfy chairs and loads of books to peruse.

I do have friends still in DF, and would happily put you in touch with them, if you will give me a bit more information about yourself and your partner.

Carlos

Artsy and liberal types - doesn't that translate as interesting? No interest in the arts and conservative? Hmmm. I think intercasa has done a good job of stereotyping himself.

Steve, the reason people write their emails like that is to stop the auto trawlers sweeping the forum and picking up their email addy for spamming. If you put your real email addy up there its likely to be harvested.

I changed the op to make it more clear

Thanks! You would think that after 15 years on the Net, I should have known that! DUH!!! What derailed my mind, what little I have left, was the email addy was written in Spanish. I'll note for future postings!
